As an IT Technician, you will provide technical support to our car wash locations in the southeast area of Houston, including the Friendswood area. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functionality of our car wash equipment and building systems, conducting repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks as needed.

Job Summary:

The IT Specialist with Data Validation is a critical role within the Whitewater Express Car Wash team, responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our data while also providing comprehensive IT support. This position blends technical expertise in system administration and troubleshooting with a strong focus on data quality and validation. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem-solver with a passion for data integrity and a commitment to providing exceptional user support across our multiple locations. This role, reporting to the Lead Software Engineer, will work with various software, including Tableau, MySQL databases, Point-of-Sale reporting, and financial reporting, while supporting both corporate and location teams.

Responsibilities

Data Validation:
  • Design, implement, and maintain data validation processes and rules across various systems, including point-of-sale (POS) and business intelligence (BI) systems.
  • Develop and execute daily data quality checks, identifying and resolving data inconsistencies and errors related to wash data, sales transactions, and other critical information.
  • Document data validation procedures and best practices.
  • Understanding of SQL queries and database concepts are required to perform data validation processes. 
Technical Support:
  • Maintain and troubleshoot systems, network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls), servers, workstations, printers, and other hardware and software.
  • Perform regular system updates, backups, and security checks.
  • Provide timely and effective technical support resolving hardware, software, and network problems remotely and on-site.
Access Management:
  • Create, modify, and delete user accounts across various systems, ensuring appropriate access levels and permissions.
  • Implement and enforce password policies, assist users with password resets, and promote secure password practices.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in IT support, database administration, or a related role.
  • Strong understanding of data validation principles and techniques.
  • Experience with network administration, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Proficiency in Tableau and backend data flows is a plus.  
  • Experience with database concepts and basic MySQL queries is required.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Google Sheets formulas and processes. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
