Position Overview
Join WhiteWater Express Car Wash as a Lead Industrial Maintenance Technician in the Michigan area! Our fast-growing company boasts over 130 locations across TX, OK, LA, OH, KY, and MI—and we're just getting started. This is a 100% travel role, perfect for someone who thrives on being in the field and tackling challenges head-on at multiple locations. We’re seeking a hands-on leader with strong mechanical skills and experience managing technical teams to play a critical role in our Facilities team, keeping our sites operating at peak performance. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, schedule, and coordinate daily activities for a team of regional Maintenance Technicians
- Travel to car wash locations across the region for repairs and equipment installations
- Perform hands-on maintenance by diagnosing and repairing car wash equipment, including hydraulic, pneumatic, and low-voltage electrical systems (5V and above, up to 480V).
- Troubleshoot and repair 480V/230V 3-phase motor control centers (MCCs).
- VFD troubleshooting and installation
- Conduct preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life
- Communicate effectively with Operations teams and vendors to coordinate repairs and projects
- Oversee and perform building maintenance: plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Accurately document and update all maintenance tasks accurately within multiple mobile work order management systems
- Monitor and review departmental budgets to ensure alignment with financial goals.
Qualifications
- 5 years of industrial or field service maintenance experience (Maintenance Level II or III preferred)
- 2 years of experience leading or supervising a technical team
- Strong skills in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems, including low-voltage motor controls
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make field-based decisions
- Must be comfortable with frequent travel to store locations across assigned regions
- Experience with team scheduling and spreadsheet software (e.g., Google Sheets, Excel)
- Valid driver’s license, current insurance, and reliable transportation (must pass background check and MVR/driving record review)
- Available for a rotating on-call schedule, including after-hours service needs
- Comfortable coordinating efforts with contractors and vendors as needed
- Willingness to take on new challenges daily and adapt to rapidly changing environments
- Ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in outdoor, all-weather conditions
